Beginning in 2004, Allegheny Surveys began utilizing pipeline locators and GPS mapping-grade technology to locate and survey over 1,600 miles of transmission and feeder pipelines throughout West Virginia and western Pennsylvania. Our efforts have helped major gas transmission and production companies meet recent requirements mandated by the Department of Homeland Security. Our personnel are highly proficient in the use of location equipment in recovering the pipeline locations, and in processing the data into the appropriate formats necessary for the clients to import the pipeline locations into their respective Geographic Information System.
ASI also performs numerous pre-construction and asbuilt pipeline surveys for its clients. Using a combination of GPS and conventional surveying technology, ASI helps our clients in the oil and gas industry to develop their gas transmission infrastructure.
